Pantone's colour of 2013... Emerald Green
Pantone's colour of 2013 has been announced, and it is emerald green!
Personally, with all the brights and neon colours around I was surprised to see this particular shade of green but welcome it anyway.
This could be a sign of the sustainable impact on the world of design, as everything seems to have an organic edge and environmental inspiration behind it.
“Green is the most abundant hue in nature – the human eye sees more green than any other color in the spectrum,” says Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. “Symbolically, Emerald brings a sense of clarity, renewal and rejuvenation, which is so important in today’s complex world.”
Whether it be in interiors or fashion, emerald is the colour of decadence, radiance and luxury so I'm sure we'll be seeing it everywhere in 2013.

Mini trend: Cherries!
We've seen owls, flamingo's and pineapples trend in interiors this year but Candana predict the humble cherry to be the next big thing!
Bright and fun, this little fruit is a favourite of styling queen Megan Morton and has also been the inspiration for Nika Zupanc's 'Cherry lamps' pendants.
New in store, we have the Qualy toilet brush and bin which have been a complete hit.
The bin's stem rises as the bin fills and cleverly conceals the liner inside.
Aren't these just the perfect Christmas gifts? We think yes!

Candana client home: Tina & Louise
Today I have the extreme pleasure of sharing with you the delightful home of one of Candana's most favourite designers Tina De Salis of Tina & Louise.
Interior designer Tina is not one to shy away from colour or pattern and has a unique way of combining many design elements and styles to create divine living spaces.
Her own home is a perfect example of her design aesthetic, bright pops of colour amongst minimal and sleek architecture. I mean, how great is that fuchsia Egg chair right?!
The wallpaper in the bathrooms beautifully relate back to the colour used throughout the home. We love to see homes where the bathrooms are included in the overall design and are an extension of the furnished home.
A big thank you to Tina for sharing her amazing home with us, we are constantly amazed and thankful that we can be involved (even if it's a small part) with beautiful homes such as this one.

QT Sydney
'Hip' has a new address.
The iconic Gowings building in Sydney has recently had a make over and has been transformed into part U.K mega-store Topshop and boutique hotel QT!
QT is actually set within two landmark buildings, The Gowings building and the State Theatre.
Architects Nic Graham & Associates and Indyk Architects worked to create an edgy space that combines the rich and colourful past of these two Sydney buildings with contemporary and unique aspects of the Sydney lifestyle today.
The hotel boasts 200 guest rooms decorated in 12 different styles. These rooms include some of the coolest bathrooms we've seen in hotels. Most bathrooms have the luxurious freestanding bathtub as well as contemporary square tapware. They've also included some fun details in the accessories such as the 'hand' mirror holders and ceramic bunnies.
The quirky design aesthetic has been carried through to the hotels restaurant (Gownings bar & grill) and bar (Gilt Lounge) with a hint of the 1920's thrown in there as homage to the buildings era. They have quickly become hot spots for the Sydney's 'it' crowd (which also included a visit from R-Pattz this week while on his promo tour!)
Sydney's newest boutique hotel has been described as accommodation unlike any other, and it's not hard to see why.

Colour trend... Red
It is quite striking in a predominantly white room as a contemporary and effective accent.
We would put together a crisp white contemporary freestanding bath with a bright red Wishbone side table and some simple accessories for a clean, minimal look.
Scarlet is not for the faint-hearted, so here are some great examples or red success.
