Victoria & Albert

Barcelona bath and basins

Edge bath and basins

Victoria + Albert is a global brand with a worldwide reputation for creating beautiful freestanding baths and basins.

Made from a combination of volcanic limestone and high performance resins (aka Quarrycast) these baths and basins are moulded into beautifully organic shapes that exude extreme luxury and instantly transform any room they are placed in.

V+A have just released another two magnificent additions to their range, the Barcelona and Edge baths which will be on show at the Salone Internazionale del Bagno trade fair next month (if you are lucky enough to be Milan for that, you must check out V+A's stand).

So feel free to swoon over the next few images, we constantly are!

Blue

It's so nice to see a pop of colour in a neutral setting.
This bright blue Vola KV1 just makes me smile.

Celebrity homes... Ellen DeGeneres & Portia de Rossi

I have to admit that I often wonder what the homes of the rich and famous look like. I imagine dream-like spaces, luxurious living and extravagant surrounds.

The Beverley Hills home of the hilarious Ellen DeGeneres and gorgeous Portia de Rossi is exactly that.

Its an eclectic mix of rustic, modern and international design with a few quirks that compliment this couple very well.

My only criticism is that there isn't really any Australian representation in this home, I would've loved to see something a bit reminiscent of Portia's humble Aussie upbringing.
And by that I don't mean a stuffed koala, but maybe a bit of colour in the form of a Dinosaur Design vase etc.

What do you think?

Colour trend... Pink

WARNING! This blog post may contain highly feminine imagery and content.

Flaminia Twinset basin and column

OK so we all know pink isn't every ones cup of tea, but it can look pretty awesome if used in the right scale, composition and context.

When you think of pink bathrooms I bet a 1950's pedestal basin and a frilly toilet roll doll comes to mind, but the pink I'm talking about is a retro-inspired fuchsia graphic, a neon accent or a fairy floss tiled wall.

I think these images speak for themselves... Pink is back baby!

Shower curtains

via Izola

We are just about to receive our new front window display which will feature the Laufen Mimo range. This fun and fresh range includes a super-cute graphic on their vanities and shower curtains. So it got me thinking about shower curtains.

Let's face it, in recent years the shower curtain hasn't been the stylish of bathroom accessories but I'm here to show you that things have changed and these once rubber-duck-clad plastic sheets have turned into chic and even artful additions to the shower/bath!
